Senior Project Officer
- Location: Canberra
- Contract: 12 months up to maximumof 24 months
- Clearance: Active Baseline
- Working Arrangements: Hybrid option available
We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Officer to support the delivery of a portfolio of projects within a complex and fast-paced environment. Working with limited direction, you will coordinate project activities, manage schedules and reporting, engage with stakeholders, and provide specialist advice to ensure successful project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate project activities and deliverables.
- Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, and reporting frameworks.
- Prepare project documentation including business cases, executive briefs, plans, and reports.
- Monitor project budgets, expenditure, procurement activities, and contracts.
- Identify, monitor, and manage project risks, issues, and benefits.
- Support quality management and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships across multiple levels.
- Conduct research, analysis, and reporting to support project objectives.
- Provide guidance, coaching, and support to project team members.
- Represent the project team in meetings, workshops, and other forums.

You are a highly organised project professional with strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
You can effectively manage competing priorities, apply sound judgement, and work collaboratively across teams to achieve outcomes.
Required Skills & Experience
- Demonstrated experience supporting or managing projects within established project management frameworks.
- Robust project planning, scheduling, reporting, and coordination skills.
- Experience monitoring project performance, risks, budgets, and deliverables.
- Ability to develop and maintain effective stakeholder relationships.
- Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Experience contributing to quality management and process improvement initiatives.
- Ability to supervise, mentor, and develop staff where required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
