About the Position
The SeniorAdvisor/Investigator is part of the Legal team of the RegisteredOrganisations Services Branch at the Fair Work Commission.Reporting to the Assistant Director, the successful candidate willwork alongside other members of the team to provide advice andassistance to a range of internal and external stakeholders, suchas Commission Members, the General Manager, the Branch’s ExecutiveDirector, and practitioners.

As a SeniorAdvisor, you will utilise your strong research skills, and abilityto interpret and apply complex legislation to assist with andprovide advice on regulatory compliance, investigations, andlitigation. You will be a proactive team member, contributing toevaluation and improvement of processes and will have theopportunity to work across many of the functions of theBranch.

As anInvestigator, you will conduct, be responsible for and managecomplex investigations and are required to be appropriatelyqualified. You will also have the chance to collaborate anddelegate to more junior staff within the team.

Duties

- Workwith the Assistant Director, Director, the Executive Directorand other team members in providing issues analysis, advice,support and assistance to internal and external clients inrelation to registered organisation compliance enforced by theCommission.
- Conductinquiries and investigations into suspected cases ofnon-compliance with the Fair Work (Registered Organisations)Act 2009 (Cth) (RO Act) by organisations, branches, officersand/or employees.
- Identifypractical or technical issues and develop investigation andenforcement strategies arising in investigations andcommunicate these through internal and external correspondenceincluding Investigation Reports.




- Developand maintain working relationships with a range of key internaland external stakeholders including assisting withinterviewing, drafting correspondence and obtaining informationfrom a range of witnesses and legal providers.
- Assistthe Assistant Director, Director and other staff in completinginquiries and investigations, meeting performance targetsincluding timeliness benchmarks and undertaking relevantproject work.
- Processcompliance issues and matters that are lodged with theCommission by registered organisations including advisingorganisations in relation to legislativerequirements.
- Otherduties as directed by the Delegate/Executive Director, theAssistant Director and/or the Director.
