Cougar Drilling is the largest supplier of Inseam Drilling Services to coal mines in Australia. We are looking for an experienced underground Electrician to join our operations at Dendrobium Coal Mine on Weekend Day Shift (Friday - Sunday).

About the Role

The Electrician is responsible for performing electrical maintenance of underground equipment and attending to breakdowns of electrical equipment within Cougar Drilling's scope of responsibility. The delivery of services by the Electrician should meet and/or exceed client expectations, with safety in mind at all times. The roster available is for WEDS (Friday - Sunday).

Key Responsibilities

- Perform electrical repairs and maintenance

- Routine inspections for machinery and fixed plant, and carry out preventative measures and condition reporting

- Fault-finding, diagnosis, repair and maintenance of the electrical and instrumentation components of process equipment

- Installation of Electrical infrastructure in accordance with site standards and statutory regulation





- Identify potential risks and assess all potential non-conformances, and ensuring that these are reported

- Adhere to safety requirements of Cougar Drilling, site specific and legislative requirements

- Complete all necessary documentation for evidence of scheduled and non-scheduled electrical tasks, ensuring data integrity throughout the reporting

What We're Looking For

- Electrical trade qualification and licence

- CPR and LV rescue certificates

- LV/HV Motors, HV switching/switchgear ticket

- Strong fault-finding ability and ability to read/interpret drawings

- Prior sign-off as an underground unaccompanied worker

- Other machine appointments such as underground Loader and Man-Transporter
