About the Role: This is a fanastic opportunity to join the Learning team as a Senior Engineer and work across our flagship product. You will join as the third team member reporting to our Team Tech Lead to reimagine how we innovate learning for our customers across an array of industries. Our current stack is React, PHP and AWS however we are migrating across to Node.js. The ideal candidate has a passion for spec-driven development and uses AI in their engineering process.

Key Responsibilities: Championing Code Quality & Standards: Set the benchmark for excellence by advising the team on standards and proactively identifying gaps in project requirements to ensure high-quality delivery.

Driving Security & Architecture: Lead threat modeling efforts, mentor team members on secure coding practices, and architect services that align with our core principles, all while promoting security through thorough PR and architecture reviews.

Leading AI-Assisted Delivery: Orchestrate multi-agent workflows to build complex features and contribute to our expanding prompt library. You will be responsible for catching nuanced performance or architectural issues in AI-generated code.

Owning Delivery & Incidents:



Guide the team through project breakdown and estimation, while serving as the primary owner for production issues, seeing them through to resolution with a focus on stability.

Technical skills: Hands-on experience with PHP, React and AWS. Solid grounding in software engineering fundamentals, including SOLID, REST, OOP and secure coding practices.

Ability to produce maintainable, well-tested and well-documented code.

Strong debugging and problem-solving skills, including log analysis and production investigation.

Confidence using AI coding tools effectively, including effective prompt writing and critical review of generated output.

Nice to have

Experience with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code or Codex.

Familiarity with GraphQL.
