Company: Opel Mobile (opelmobile.com.au) We're hiring a Senior Technical Certification & Test Manager to own the technical backbone of every device we launch across five markets. We're growing fast, and we need someone to lead our Product Engineer and manage the technical relationship with our OEM and ODM factories, our field test contractors, and our retail and telco partners across Australia, New Zealand, the UK, Ireland and the South Pacific. You'll be the technical bridge between our factories in China and our commercial launch deadlines, making sure every device passes certification, meets telco requirements and reaches the field test finish line on schedule.

This isn't a role where you administer someone else's testing plan. You'll own the technical roadmap for every launch and run it.

Key Responsibilities • Team Leadership — Directly lead our Product Engineer so network testing, certification and compliance stay aligned with production and launch deadlines.

- OEM/ODM Factory Liaison — Manage technical requirements with our manufacturing partners for mobile devices sold across Australia, NZ, the Pacific Islands, UK, Ireland and EU nations, including telco requirements for each market.
- Field Test Management — Work with our field testing contract teams to test all new and existing devices, reading test logs and results, and supporting OEM/ODM factories to resolve networking, hardware and software issues.




- Technical Depth — Apply working knowledge of mobile hardware, software, RF and networking, including Android and RTOS systems, and 3G/4G/5G/Wifi networking.
- Certification — Manage telco and device certification requirements across all active markets (GCF experience highly regarded).
- Partner Communication — Manage technical communication with our retail and telco partners.
- Automation & AI — Identify and implement automated software/network testing and AI tools to improve testing efficiency and speed up issue resolution.
- Project Management — Manage technical timeframes for new device launches using tools like Trello and Jira, keeping the technical workstream synchronised with the wider launch plan.

Selection

Criteria & Experience • Industry Background — 5+ years in RF, telecommunications or device certification engineering, ideally in mobile phones, tablets or consumer electronics.





- People Leadership — Experience managing or mentoring a product/test engineer, with confidence directing technical priorities.
- Technical Literacy — Strong understanding of Android and RTOS systems, RF, hardware and networking (3G/4G/5G/Wifi).
- Factory & Contractor Management — Experience liaising directly with OEM/ODM factories and managing external test contractors.
- Certification Exposure — Telco testing experience required; GCF certification experience a strong plus (training provided if not already held).
- Platform Literacy — Comfortable running technical workstreams in Trello, Jira or similar project management tools.
- AI Integration — Knowledge and hands-on use of AI tools to automate testing and improve technical efficiency (highly regarded).
