The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Site Supervisor to join our team in Bandiana, Victoria, delivering a significant $50 million Defence construction project.
Reporting to the Site Manager and Project Manager, you will play a key role in coordinating day-to-day site operations, managing subcontractors and ensuring the project is delivered safely, on schedule and to the highest quality standards.
This role is ideally suited to a hands-on construction professional who enjoys leading site teams, driving programme outcomes and building strong relationships with trades, consultants and client representatives.
As part of this position, the successful candidate will also undertake key project safety leadership responsibilities,
acting as the primary safety representative for the project in accordance with Defence and NAVFAC requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and supervise daily construction activities across the project.
- Manage subcontractors and suppliers to achieve programme, quality and productivity targets.
- Ensure works are completed in accordance with drawings, specifications and contract requirements.
- Monitor project progress and proactively identify and resolve site issues.
- Drive site safety, quality and environmental compliance.
- Maintain site records including daily reports, inspections and project documentation.
- Liaise with the project team, consultants and client representatives.
- Lead and mentor site teams to achieve successful project outcomes.
- Coordinate toolbox meetings, site inspections and safety initiatives.
- Support project risk management, incident investigations and compliance activities.
- Act as the key site contact for project safety matters and client safety requirements.
About You To be successful in this role, you will possess:
- Minimum 5 years' experience as a Site Supervisor on commercial, industrial, infrastructure or Defence projects.
- Experience delivering construction projects valued at $50 million or greater.
- Strong understanding of construction methodologies,
sequencing and trade coordination.
- Proven ability to manage multiple subcontractors and drive programme outcomes.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong leadership and problem-solving ability.
- Commitment to maintaining a positive safety culture.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Current White Card.
Highly Regarded
- Defence project experience.
- Experience working within live Defence environments.
- Exposure to NAVFAC, US DoD or similar Defence project requirements.
- Previous experience undertaking site safety leadership responsibilities.
- Cert IV Building & Construction or equivalent qualification.
- Diploma or Degree in Construction Management or related discipline.
