Queensland Bridge & Civil (QBC) is a Queensland-based civil contracting company that has successfully delivered Department of Transport and Main Roads, Council and private enterprise projects across South-East Queensland for more than 25 years.
Following continued growth , QBC is expanding our construction teams and is seeking Skilled Civil Construction Workers to join our projects.
We are looking for experienced, hands-on civil construction workers who can contribute across a range of activities including Earthworks, Structures, Drainage and Surfacing. You will be expected to work as part of a construction crew, follow direction from the Leading Hand and Supervisor, and take pride in delivering quality work safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake general civil construction and labouring activities
- Assist with earthworks, drainage, structures and roadworks
- Assist with concrete preparation, pouring and finishing
- Assist with the installation of drainage pipes and associated infrastructure
- Spot and direct mobile plant and delivery vehicles as required
- Assist with site set-up, maintenance and clean-up
- Operate small plant and equipment where appropriately licensed and competent
- Support the Leading Hand, Supervisor and wider construction team
- Maintain a high standard of housekeeping and site safety
- Follow QBC procedures, project requirements and directions from site management
Skills & Experience To be considered for these positions, you will have:
- Demonstrated experience working in civil construction
- Practical experience across earthworks, drainage, structures or roadworks
- A strong work ethic and willingness to be hands-on
- The ability to work effectively as part of a construction team
- A current Drivers Licence
- A Queensland Construction White Card
The following tickets and experience will be highly regarded:
- Road Roller competency
- Dogman / Basic Rigging
- HR Truck Licence
- Standpipe Licence
- Experience working on TMR or major civil infrastructure projects
You will also need your own reliable transport and be willing to work across South-East Queensland and regional Queensland as project requirements dictate.
