Contract: 3 months, with potential to extend

Hybrid, Melbourne Our client is growing their security and observability capability and we are looking for a Splunk Engineer consultant to help make it run cleanly. You'll own alert configuration, integrations, and data onboarding — working closely with security, infrastructure, and application teams so the environment stays visible and detections stay reliable.

This is a good next step if you've got solid Splunk fundamentals and want to build deeper SIEM and integration experience in a real enterprise environment. What you'll do

Configure, maintain, and tune Splunk alerts and event-based detections

Build and support integrations between Splunk and platforms including ServiceNow, Microsoft Teams, email notification systems, security tools, and custom APIs

Onboard new log sources and manage data inputs, forwarders,



and parsers

Tune alerts to cut false positives and lift detection quality

Build dashboards and support reporting needs

Troubleshoot ingestion, alerting, and integration issues

Test and validate new use cases and integrations

Document technical processes and operational procedures

Work alongside senior engineers and stakeholders to land project outcomes What you'll bring

Splunk experience

Solid understanding of Splunk Enterprise and/or Splunk Cloud

Experience building and managing alerts and scheduled searches

Working knowledge of SPL

Experience with APIs, webhooks, or automation-based integrations

Understanding of log management and SIEM concepts
