About the Role

We're seeking an experienced, commercially astute and authentic leader to join us as State Director of Victoria. Reporting to the Chief Retail Operations Officer, you will lead the Victorian State Operations team, supporting approximately 200 bakeries and >140 franchisees across the state. This pivotal leadership role will see you drive sales growth, profitability and operational excellence across one of our largest regions.

As a key member of the National Operations Leadership Team, you will balance strategic leadership with hands-on execution, partnering with franchisees, developing your team and collaborating across support office functions to deliver outstanding business performance.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead, coach, challenge, inspire and develop a team of Franchise Consultants and Operations Specialists.

- Drive sales growth, profitability and operational excellence across the Victorian network. Deliver on financial metrics and clear business key performance indicators.

- Build trusted relationships with franchisees, providing guidance, support and accountability.

- Play a critical role as member of the National Operations Leadership Team.

- Champion Bakers Delight brand standards, project initiatives and continuous improvement initiatives.

- Lead performance management, employee relations matters and workplace investigations in partnership with our People & Performance department (HR).





- Ensure compliance with relevant legislative, regulatory and franchising agreement requirements.

- Partner with key stakeholders across Marketing, Commercial, Property, Supply Chain, HR and Franchise Development.

- Drive team engagement, capability development and succession planning.

- Identify opportunities for network growth and improved business performance.

- Contribute to national operations initiatives and broader business strategy.

Desired Skills And Experience

About You

You are a proven operational leader with strong commercial acumen, exceptional relationship-building skills and a passion for helping franchisees and teams succeed.

You will bring

- Leadership experience within franchise, retail, QSR, FMCG or multi-site environments.

- Strong commercial capability, including interpreting financial performance and driving profitable outcomes.

- Demonstrated experience leading large teams and providing effective people leadership, including annual performance reviews, complex performance management, workplace investigations, and employee relations case management.

- Excellent communication skills stakeholder management and ability to influence.

- Experience working across multiple business functions and disciplines within prior roles or organisations.

- Understanding of Victorian employment legislation and compliance requirements eg: FWC and FWA.





- Tertiary qualifications in Business, Commerce, Management or another discipline is highly desirable.

- Experience within QSR, food retail, FMCG or a large-format retail organisation will be highly regarded.

- The capability and ambition to excel in a senior leadership role overseeing a large, complex network.

- Prior experience in large scale presentations, national conferences is also desirable to support solid communication skills.
