About the Role

We are seeking a passionate and skilled Cook to join our kitchen team. This role is ideal for someone who works well with others, and is eager to maintain our high standards of food preparation. The successful candidate must be able to multitask, stay calm under pressure, and possess a solid understanding of kitchen operations.

Key Responsibilities

- Preparing and cooking food to a high standard, following established recipes and Japanese culinary techniques.
- Examining food to ensure quality and freshness at all stages of preparation.
- Regulating temperatures of ovens, grills, and other specialized cooking equipment.
- Seasoning, portioning, and plating dishes, including adding sauces and garnishes.
- Managing food storage in temperature-controlled facilities to ensure safety and longevity.




- Preparing food for special dietary requirements as requested by patrons.
- Maintaining hygiene and food safety by enforcing all relevant regulations and cleaning procedures.
- Collaborating with the team, including discussing preparation issues with managers and waiting staff.

Qualifications & Skills

- Education/Experience: At least a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery OR a minimum of two years of relevant commercial kitchen experience.
- Technical Knowledge: Experience in high-volume food preparation and a fast-paced customer service setting.
- Interpersonal Skills: High level of communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a group.
- Adaptability: Proven ability to work effectively under pressure and handle various shifts, including nights and weekends.
