From renewable electricity generation to hydrogen refuelling infrastructure and industrial chemical production, they're building the complete green hydrogen value chain, and now seeking an experienced and driven Facilities Manager to lead the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of a Green Hydrogen & Ammonia Facility in Mooree, NSW.

About the Role

Reporting into senior leadership, the Facilities Manager will take ownership of all aspects of plant operations, maintenance, commissioning, safety, and continuous improvement.
This is a critical leadership role responsible for ensuring the facility consistently achieves production, reliability, safety, and commercial performance targets while supporting the transition to a zero‑emissions future. Playing a pivotal role through commissioning, operational readiness, and long‑term plant optimisation.

Key Responsibilities

Lead day‑to‑day facility operations to ensure protected and efficient hydrogen and ammonia production
Monitor and optimise plant performance through SCADA/DCS systems and operational data

Drive plant reliability, throughput, and operational efficiency

Maintenance & Asset Management

Execute maintenance and reliability programs aligned with operational priorities
Support the development of asset integrity and maintenance frameworks
Manage contractors and specialist service providers
Lead all commissioning phases, including pre‑commissioning, energisation, cold/hot commissioning, and performance testing
Coordinate multidisciplinary teams across process, mechanical, electrical, and controls disciplines





Provide strong on‑site leadership during critical start‑up activities

Health, Safety & Compliance

Champion a high‑performing safety culture
Ensure compliance with regulatory, environmental, and statutory obligations
Oversee permit‑to‑work systems, isolations, and safe work practices

Lead incident investigations and continuous improvement initiatives

Leadership & Team Development

Build and develop a capable operations and maintenance team
Support recruitment, onboarding, training, and competency development
Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and high‑performance culture
Manage operational budgets and cost performance
Monitor key operational KPIs, including production, reliability, and efficiency

Identify and implement optimisation and improvement opportunities

About You
You are a strong operational leader with deep experience in industrial or process facilities and a passion for delivering safe, high‑performing operations in emerging energy industries.

You'll Bring

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, or related discipline)
Relevant NSW safety and regulatory certifications
10–15+ years’ experience in industrial operations and maintenance environments
Proven leadership experience within high‑risk or process industries
Experience managing multidisciplinary teams and contractors
Background in hydrogen, ammonia, gas, renewables, chemicals, or similar sectors

Experience supporting facility commissioning or start‑up activities is highly regarded
