We are seeking a dedicated Numeracy Intervention Teacher to join a welcoming secondary college in Melbourne’s west. This is a 0.8 role, including a Year 7 maths class and targeted numeracy support for Years 7–9.

The school serves a low-DMI community with a high proportion of refugee and newly arrived students , representing communities including Middle Eastern, Myanmar, African, and Vietnamese backgrounds. Over 80% of students speak a language other than English at home.

Despite the challenges, the maths faculty is highly collaborative, advanced, and passionate about explicit, high-impact teaching strategies . This role offers the chance to make a meaningful difference in students’ numeracy outcomes while working with an expert team.

What we’re looking for:

- Confident teaching lower secondary numeracy
- Experience with EAL, refugee, or high-needs learners (advantageous)
- Passion for explicit instruction and high-impact teaching strategies
- Collaborative, patient, culturally responsive, and relationship-focused
- VIT registered (or in process)

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS NUMERACY INTERVENTION TEACHER ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:

- Hold a recognised teaching qualification (e.g. Bachelor of Education or Master of Teaching – Secondary)
- Be eligible to work in Australia
- Hold current VIT registration (or be eligible to obtain)
- Hold a valid Working with Children Check (WWCC)
- Provide two recent, child-related qualified references
