Lead the growth, performance and profile of AmCham in New South Wales. This senior, market-facing role combines commercial leadership, membership growth, executive stakeholder engagement and strategic oversight of events, programs and partnerships.

The American Chamber of Commerce in Australia is a national member organisation connecting Australian and American businesses and advancing the Australia–U.S. economic relationship. AmCham brings together senior business leaders, government representatives and key stakeholders through membership, events, partnerships and influential networks.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, with regular engagement with the Chief Executive Officer, you will be accountable for AmCham’s success in New South Wales within its national strategy and operating model. You will represent AmCham with CEOs, board members, senior executives, government leaders and U.S. stakeholders, while working closely with the NSW Council of Governors and national teams.

What You Will Do

- Lead AmCham's presence, performance and profile across Recent South Wales.

- Drive new member acquisition, retention and renewals.

- Build trusted relationships with current and prospective members, senior business leaders, government and U.S. representatives.

- Work closely with the Chair and NSW Council of Governors to strengthen engagement and influence.





- Provide strategic leadership of relevant, commercially sustainable events and programs, including flagship NSW events and the Alliance Awards Gala.

- Deliver membership, event and sponsorship revenue in line with agreed budgets.

- Manage the NSW operating budget and identify new growth opportunities.

- Lead and support the Event Coordinator and collaborate with State General Managers and national teams.

About You

Senior leadership experience in a commercially oriented, member, client or stakeholder-driven environment.

A proven ability to win new business and develop long-term relationships that support retention and growth.

Strong credibility and confidence engaging with CEOs, boards, government and other senior stakeholders.

Commercial judgement, with experience delivering revenue targets and managing budgets.

Experience working with boards, councils or advisory groups.

A collaborative leadership style and the ability to work effectively within a national organisation.

An interest in international business, public policy and the Australia–U.S. relationship.

Working Arrangement and Salary

This is an office- and field-based role involving regular meetings with members, prospective members and key stakeholders. The standard arrangement is four days per week working in the Sydney office or in the field and one day working from home
