Cam Can is a family-led organization dedicated to providing individualised, tailored community-based support to people with disabilities and their families. Our mission is to empower individuals with choice, control, and independence, building on their existing strengths.
We are currently seeking energetic and motivated individuals to join our team in two different support roles. If you are passionate about making a difference and have the relevant skills or experience, we encourage you to apply—please specify which role you are interested in or if you believe you are suitable for both.
Role 1: Thornlie Member Support Worker
Support needs: Mondays 3:00 PM – 5:30 PM and Thursdays 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM
Requirements:
- Must be reliable and consistent. The member is looking for a longer-term support worker
- No students for this member please
- Female applicants only
- Arts and crafts interests is desirable
- Enjoys a long walk with her dog
- Epilepsy experience is desirable, training will be provided
Role 2: Secret Harbour Member Support Worker
Support needs: 1:00 PM – 6:00 PM (flexibility for morning supports to be explored soon)
Requirements:
- Experience with Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) and/or mental health support preferred
- Reliable and dependable
What We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate will be resilient, patient, caring,
and calm during challenging situations. You should be proactive, engaging, and able to work independently with leadership qualities. Excellent communication skills are essential, along with a solid interest in best practice support and working alongside a dedicated team of therapists, behavioural specialists, and other professionals.
You will be confident in following Positive Behaviour Support Plans and mapping daily routines, drawing on your past experiences to provide person-centred care.
Requirements to Get Started
- Be willing to apply for or have an NDIS Worker Screening Check and a Working with Children Check (if applicable)
- Hold a valid Australian Driver’s Licence and have your own reliable vehicle
- Be willing to undertake relevant training, including the NDIS Module
