Join our team as a Clinical Nurse Consultant – Endoscopy Case Manager, providing advanced gastroenterology nursing expertise through nurse-led assessment and consent clinics, coordinating complex pre-procedural care, and ensuring safe, seamless patient journeys through endoscopy services.
About the role
The Clinical Nurse Consultant - Endoscopy Case Manager provides advanced clinical expertise in the pre-procedural assessment and management of patients requiring gastrointestinal (GI) endoscopy. The role is responsible for delivering nurse-led pre-endoscopy assessment and consent clinics, coordinating perioperative antithrombotic management, and ensuring patients are appropriately prepared for procedures to support safe, high-quality care.
The successful candidate will act as a clinical expert and resource within Endoscopy and Procedural Services, providing specialist advice, supporting service improvement initiatives, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to optimise patient outcomes. The role also contributes to education, policy development, innovation and evidence-based practice within the gastroenterology and endoscopy setting.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
- Provide advanced clinical assessment, case management and informed consent services for patients undergoing gastrointestinal endoscopy procedures.
- Coordinate perioperative antithrombotic therapy and management of patient comorbidities to ensure safe procedural care.
- Demonstrate specialist expertise in gastroenterology nursing,
applying advanced clinical judgement and problem-solving skills to complex patient presentations.
- Act as a clinical resource, mentor and advisor to nursing staff and multidisciplinary teams in relation to pre-procedural endoscopy care.
- Contribute to service improvement, policy development and innovation initiatives that enhance patient outcomes and procedural services.
