The Opportunity
As Director, Workplace Relations & Human Resources Policy, you will lead a specialist function responsible for workplace relations, HR policy and the implementation and embedding of a new Enterprise Agreement.
This is a high-impact EL2 opportunity for an experienced workplace relations professional who enjoys working at the intersection of strategy, policy, employee relations and organisational change. You’ll provide trusted advice to senior executives, lead complex workplace relations matters and negotiations, and work closely with unions and key external stakeholders.
For the right person, this is an opportunity to influence enterprise-wide workforce outcomes, shape HR policy and contribute to broader organisational reform while leading a capable and specialist team.
The Role
You'll lead the Workplace Relations and HR Policy section, providing specialist advice and representing the department in workplace relations forums while managing the team's day-to-day delivery.
Your key responsibilities will be
- Leading the implementation and embedding of the Enterprise Agreement and associated HR policies
- Providing high-level workplace relations and HR advice to senior executives and leaders
- Leading complex bargaining, negotiation and consultation activities with unions and key stakeholders
- Managing relationships with relevant external bodies and workplace relations stakeholders
- Driving the development, review and implementation of contemporary HR policy
- Providing strategic advice on complex and sensitive workplace relations matters
- Leading the section’s priorities, workflow, performance and capability
- Overseeing complex projects and contribute to broader organisational reform and transformation
- Coaching and developing a specialist team and foster a collaborative, inclusive culture
The Ideal Person
You will be an experienced workplace relations leader with strong knowledge of the Australian employment relations environment and a track record of operating confidently at an enterprise level. You’ll bring demonstrated experience in Enterprise Agreement bargaining and implementation, HR policy development and complex stakeholder engagement, ideally within a large or highly regulated environment.
You will be comfortable providing frank, strategic advice to senior executives and navigating sensitive issues with sound judgement and discretion. Importantly, you’ll be a collaborative and credible leader who can build effective relationships with unions, senior stakeholders and external bodies while translating complex workplace relations issues into practical outcomes.
A relevant HR, workplace relations or equivalent qualification and recent, in-depth knowledge of employment legislation, industrial instruments and contemporary HR practice will be highly regarded.
Salary
- $159k – $179k + Super
- Non-ongoing opportunity, open to s26 transfer
- Immediate start on offer
