HOBBA Café is looking for an experienced and highly motivated Café Operations Manager to join our team.
We are looking for someone with at least 3 years’ management experience, ideally 3–5 years in a busy café or hospitality setting, who can take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the venue from A to Z.
This is a hands-on management position. We are not looking for someone who simply oversees the team from the sidelines. We need a strong leader who is prepared to be on the floor, lead by example, solve problems, follow things up and make sure the entire operation runs smoothly.
About the Role
You will be responsible for overseeing the overall café operation, including the team, service, staffing, training, customer experience and day-to-day operational requirements.
Your responsibilities will include:

Managing the daily operation of the café from opening through to closing
Being hands-on during busy service and leading the floor team by example
Recruiting,



onboarding and training new staff
Managing staff performance, attendance and presentation
Preparing and managing staff rosters and ensuring appropriate staffing levels
Following up on staff requirements, performance and any operational issues
Training and developing staff to maintain consistent service standards
Managing the FOH team and working closely with the kitchen team
Ensuring excellent customer service and a positive customer experience
Handling customer feedback and resolving issues professionally
Ensuring the café is clean, organised and presented to a high standard
Monitoring daily operations and identifying areas that need attention
Managing stock levels and coordinating ordering where required
Ensuring procedures and company standards are followed
Managing opening and closing procedures
Ensuring workplace health, safety and food safety standards are maintained
Assisting with functions, group bookings and special events
Communicating effectively with the owners and management team
Taking responsibility for problems and following them through until they are resolved
Looking for ways to improve the business, service and team performance
