Motor Mechanic (European Vehicle Specialist)

YU Performance & Auto Service is seeking a qualified and experienced Motor Mechanic to join our workshop in Wingfield, South Australia.

We specialise in the servicing, diagnosis and repair of European vehicles and are looking for an experienced mechanic with solid diagnostic skills and demonstrated experience working with European makes.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

* Detect and diagnose mechanical and electrical faults in engines and vehicle components.

* Diagnose, service and repair European vehicles, including engine, transmission, steering, suspension, braking and electrical systems.

* Dismantle and remove engine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms and other components, and inspect parts for wear or damage.

* Repair and replace worn or defective parts and reassemble mechanical components in accordance with manufacturer specifications.

* Perform scheduled maintenance services including oil and filter changes, lubrication, fluid replacement, brake servicing and engine tune-ups.

* Reassemble engines and associated components following repairs.

* Test and adjust mechanical components after repairs to ensure correct operation and performance.

* Diagnose and test vehicle systems using computerised diagnostic equipment and scan tools.

* Interpret fault codes, technical information,



wiring diagrams and manufacturer service procedures.

* Conduct road tests and post-repair inspections to verify repairs.

* Maintain accurate service and repair records.

* Ensure all work is completed safely and to a high professional standard.

Essential Requirements

* Relevant automotive mechanical trade qualification or equivalent.

* Minimum 3 years of relevant professional experience as a Motor Mechanic.

* Demonstrated professional experience servicing, diagnosing and repairing European vehicles.

* Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills.

* Competence using computerised diagnostic equipment and scan tools.

* Ability to diagnose faults and perform repairs independently.

* Good English communication skills and ability to understand technical documentation.

* Current driver’s licence.

European Vehicle Experience

Strong experience with European vehicles is required. Experience with BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Volkswagen, Porsche, Volvo, Land Rover/Range Rover or similar European makes will be highly regarded.

Employment Details

* Salary: $79,000 – $82,000 + superannuation per annum, depending on qualifications and experience
