Melbourne Private Hospital is a large acute facility, co-located with the Royal Melbourne Hospital in Parkville.
With a dedicated focus on the provision of quality healthcare, we provide a wide range of medical and surgical services to our local Melbourne community as well as our rural, regional and international patients.
Melbourne Private Hospitals clinical specialties include cardiac services, advanced general surgery, neurosciences and neurosurgery, specialist medical services, day procedure, and day oncology.
These services are supported by a ten bed intensive care unit, six bed neurosurgery intensive nursing unit, four operating theaters, two angiography suites, an endoscopy suite, a cardiac unit and a day chemotherapy unit.

• General RN Stream
Registered Nurse
Registered Nurses at Healthscope perform a wide range of activities in pursuit of delivering a high-quality patient experience. Every day is different and may include assessing patients, administering medications, providing wound care and educating patients and their families about health conditions. You will need to collaborate with other healthcare professionals, advocate for your patients and provide support to patients and their families. You will have the opportunity to continually develop, improve and promote best evidence-based practice.
What’s Included in the Graduate Program?
Our 12-month program, available in full-time or part time roles (minimum 30 hours/week), is designed to help early career nurses and midwives transition into independent practice and enhance their clinical skills. This program is paired with an additional Consolidation Year to ensure you’re well-prepared to succeed.
· General, Perioperative, Mental Health, and Maternity (Registered Midwives only) graduate streams available – depending on Hospital preference.
· One to three rotations within your graduate stream over the 12-month program
· Ongoing employment contract

What we’ll need from you
· Evidence of Australian working rights
· Completion of a nursing or midwifery course between 1 June 2026 and 17 January 2027.
· Availability for a minimum of 30 hours/week, on a rotating roster including AM, PM, night, weekends, and public holidays.
What to get ready for your application

· Two recent student clinical placement reports (Mandatory)
· Proof of Australian working rights (e.g. Australian / Recent Zealand passport, Australian birth certificate, or international passport and relevant Australian working visa evidence).
