The Opportunity

Reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent, you will be responsible for maintaining and optimising drilling rig electrical systems and associated equipment to ensure operational reliability and safety. You will lead and develop electrical personnel while driving best-practice maintenance standards across the rig.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead all electrical maintenance activities on drilling rig operations.
- Ensure electrical systems and equipment are maintained to the highest operational standards.
- Coordinate preventative maintenance programs through CMMS systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve electrical faults to minimise downtime and maximise operational performance.
- Supervise,



mentor and develop Electricians and AC Technicians.
- Ensure compliance with company, client and regulatory safety requirements.
- Participate in safety leadership initiatives, audits, inspections and emergency response activities.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across maintenance and drilling operations.

Essential Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must possess:

- Current Australian Electrical Licence (Mandatory)
- Minimum 5 years' experience in electrical maintenance on Oil & Gas drilling rigs (Mandatory)
- Proven experience in a Chief Electrician or Electrical Leadership role
- Strong experience with rig electrical systems, drives, generators and drilling equipment
- Experience with Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
- Electrical Equipment in Hazardous Areas (EEHA) qualification

Current certification or experience in:

- Working at Heights
- Low Voltage Rescue
- H2S Awareness
- Permit to Work Systems
- SCBA
- First Aid
- Fire Response & Emergency Management
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Demonstrated commitment to safety leadership and operational excellence

Highly Regarded

- Instrumentation qualifications
- ABB ACS880 experience
- NOV Top Drive experience
- Ross Hill systems experience
- Previous PNG or remote-site operational experience
- Elevated Work Platform (EWP) licence
