Ventia delivers transport infrastructure and technology maintenance solutions across Victoria’s major road network. This role plays a critical part in supporting the North East Link Tram to Springvale Upgrade, ensuring the timely availability of materials, equipment and logistics support that enable the safe and productive delivery of essential transport infrastructure. Through effective warehouse and inventory management, you'll help keep communities connected, support road network reliability and contribute to one of Victoria's most significant transport projects.
About the role
The role is accountable for ensuring efficient receiving, storage, handling, kitting, dispatch, tracking and reconciliation of materials, spare parts, tools, plant and equipment required to support operations and maintenance delivery. The role will support field productivity by ensuring materials are available, correctly allocated, accurately recorded and delivered to crews or sites in line with operational priorities.
The Warehouse & Logistics Manager will work closely with the Operations & Maintenance Manager, supervisors, planners, engineers, project engineers, commercial team, finance team, procurement, suppliers, subcontractors and field crews to ensure inventory readiness, cost control, stock accuracy and reliable logistics support.
This position requires a highly organised and practical leader with strong warehouse discipline, inventory management capability, safety focus, cost awareness and the ability to support a fast moving maintenance environment where materials availability directly impacts response, rectification,
productivity and contract performance.
About you
- A relevant qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain, Warehousing, Business, Operations Management or a related discipline is desirable.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in warehouse, logistics, inventory or supply chain management roles.
- Experience in transport, ITS, electrical, communications, construction, maintenance, utilities or field services environments is desirable.
- Demonstrated experience managing warehouse operations, stock control, logistics coordination, supplier interfaces and delivery schedules.
- Ability to read and understand work packs, drawings, material lists, construction terminology and technical documentation is desirable.
- Experience using SAP, Maximo, inventory systems, procurement systems, Excel and warehouse management tools is desirable.
- Current driver’s licence is required.
- Current forklift licence is required or must be obtained.
- Strong understanding of safe warehouse operations, manual handling, load restraint, forklift operations, traffic management equipment, electrical materials and tool control.
- Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and ability to manage competing operational priorities.
