Build Serious Insurance Litigation Experience Early in Your Career

For a lawyer in the first few years of practice, the matters you work on and the people you learn from can shape the direction of your career.

This role offers both.

You will join an established specialist insurance team working on complex professional indemnity and liability disputes for major insurers, corporate insureds and professionals across the legal, financial, property and construction sectors.

The work extends across professional negligence claims, directors & officers' liability, financial lines, employment practices liability and regulatory matters, giving you exposure well beyond a narrow claims portfolio.

You will work closely with highly experienced senior practitioners, with meaningful involvement in matters and increasing responsibility as your experience develops. There is scope to build direct client relationships, manage your own files and develop genuine technical expertise in an area of practice with considerable depth.

The Work

You will work across a varied mix of insurance litigation matters, including:

- Professional indemnity and professional liability claims;

- Directors & officers and management liability matters;

- Financial lines disputes;

- Employment practices liability;

- Regulatory investigations and proceedings;

- Claims involving lawyers, accountants, financial advisers, engineers, architects, brokers and other professionals;

- Policy interpretation and coverage matters;

- Negligence, contractual and statutory liability disputes; and

- Broader complex insurance and commercial litigation.

You will be involved throughout the life of matters, from initial instructions and strategy through to resolution,



including drafting advice and court documents, liaising with insurers, insureds and experts, and progressing matters with increasing autonomy.

About You

You will have approximately 1–3 years' PAE with experience in insurance litigation, professional indemnity or professional liability.

We are also interested in lawyers from related contentious practices, including employment, personal injury and commercial litigation, where you have developed strong litigation fundamentals and are looking to specialise further within insurance.

You will bring robust drafting and analytical skills, sound commercial judgement and the ability to manage competing priorities. Just as importantly, you will enjoy working closely with clients and want to continue building both your technical capability and level of responsibility.
