Our club has a large recreational base with the potential to double WAG numbers, unlocking new opportunities for local, state, interstate, and national representation.
Coaches with accreditations other than WAG are also encouraged to apply, with other roles within the club available.

Club Goals:
Encourage positive sporting attitude and fellowship amongst its members
Encourage the coaching and promotion of gymnastics
Encourage and promote competitive gymnastics
To enhance the ability of all gymnasts within a safe and supportive training environment
Primary Purpose of the Role:
Coaches are responsible for ensuring the delivery of gymnastic instruction across all programs is effectively and safely delivered in accordance with industry and club guidelines.
KEY ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Culture and Leadership
Actively promote the vision, values, principles and practices of the Club.
Coaching
Prepare, implement and evaluate quality, safe, innovative and challenging lesson plans tailored to individual skills and aspirations
Prepare and submit timely annual, term and weekly coaching plans as requested. Include relevant competition schedules.
Adhere to current Club and industry policies, practices and guidelines when planning,
delivering and evaluating programs
Submit timely and accurate written program reports to the Club as requested
Attend competitions and events as required
Attend and actively participate in coaching meetings when required
Communication and Liaison
Build positive relationships with gymnasts and their parents/guardians
Effectively communicate relevant information to gymnasts and their parents/guardians in a timely manner with any written correspondence being approved and distributed by the Club Manager
Promptly and effectively manage and resolve coaching-related issues as they are
brought to your attention by gymnasts or their parents/guardians
Ensure gymnasts and their parents/guardians are aware of Club and industry policies, practices and guidelines
Safety
Ensure personal and gymnast awareness and compliance with Club and industry health and safety policies and procedures
Ensure gym equipment is safe prior to use and comply with equipment safety reporting requirements
Adhere to club safety and injury management practices and reporting requirements
Ensure familiarisation with the Club’s emergency procedures
Professional Development
Ensure qualified qualifications and industry knowledge are up-to-date
Attend in-house safety, skills and development training as requested from time to time
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS
Coaching programs delivered are innovative and challenging, tailored to individual skills and aspirations
Lesson plans are appropriately documented and submitted on time
Coaching reports are accurate and submitted on time
Positive feedback is received from stakeholders at competitions and events (where relevant)
Active steps are regularly taken or reported to improve own, gymnast, equipment and floor safety
Minimal serious gymnast injuries (i.e.
requiring immediate medical attention or hospitalisation)
Low injury rate
High level of personal and gymnast compliance with Club policies and protocols (including WHS)
High attendance and active participation in club meetings, training, competitions and club events
Takes proactive steps to ensure professional qualifications and industry knowledge are up-to-date

SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE
Sound working knowledge of the technical aspects of recreational and competitive gymnastics programs relevant to this role
Working understanding of human resource management practices issues including recruitment, occupational health and safety, anti-discrimination, performance management
Ability to work unsupervised/autonomously
Ability to work effectively as part of a team
Ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels
Demonstrates a best practice approach
Working knowledge of Microsoft based software including Word, Excel and the internet
EXPERIENCE:
Coaching experience in recreational and competitive delivery of the gymnastics program/s relevant to this role
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required
Current Technical Member of Gymnastics Australia with a minimum Advanced FIG 1 Coaching Accreditation - or a motivated coach with Intermediate Spring and Landing Accreditation and commencing Advanced Coaching pathways.
Current Working with Children Check - NT Ochre Card
Desired
Current Technical Member of Gymnastics Australia with a minimum Advanced Silver FIG 2
Judging qualifications in a relevant gym sport
Accreditation in additional programs, especially GFA, Tumbling or MAG
