We are currently looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our Engineering Delivery team in Brisbane, supporting the commercial delivery of major civil utility infrastructure projects across the region.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor with experience in civil construction, water, sewer, pipelines or utilities to take ownership of project cost management and commercial outcomes while working closely with our Engineering team.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage project costs, budgets, forecasts and cost-to-complete reporting.
- Prepare, assess and negotiate variations, progress claims and payment schedules.
- Manage and administer subcontractor packages from procurement through to final account.
- Review contracts, scopes of work, specifications, drawings and project documentation.
- Monitor project expenditure against budgets and identify potential cost overruns and commercial risks.
- Assess subcontractor claims, variations and supporting documentation.
- Manage contractual correspondence, notices, claims and extensions of time where required.
- Maintain accurate project cost records and commercial documentation.
- Assist Project Managers with commercial decision-making and cost control.
- Work closely with project teams to identify commercial opportunities and mitigate financial risks.
- Support negotiations with subcontractors, suppliers and clients.
- Manage project close-out, final accounts and reconciliation of subcontractor packages.
- Ensure compliance with contractual requirements and Vaughan Civil's commercial processes.
- Provide regular reporting to management on project financial performance
About You
- Relevant degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering, Commerce or a related discipline.
- Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor, Contracts Administrator or similar commercial role within civil construction.
- Strong experience with cost control, variations, progress claims and subcontractor management.
- Strong commercial and negotiation skills with excellent attention to detail.
- COINS experience is desirable.
