About The Role:

The Senior Corporate Governance and Policy Consultant is primarily responsible for leading the development, implementation and ongoing maintenance of the Department of Housing and Works’ (DHW) corporate governance and policy frameworks; ensuring that they meet DHW’s requirement to govern itself according to relevant legislation, public sector practices and standards. This involves the provision of support to management across DHW in the effective delivery of the corporate governance and policy frameworks.

Engagement and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders are central to this role. This position will provide effective leadership and guidance on corporate policy and governance work to support the vision and strategic direction of the Department.

About You:

You are a strategic and collaborative policy qualified with a passion for strengthening organisational governance and driving continuous improvement. You enjoy working across a broad range of corporate governance and policy matters, balancing strategic thinking with practical implementation to deliver meaningful outcomes.

You have demonstrated experience developing, reviewing and implementing policies, governance frameworks and business improvement initiatives within a complex organisation.



You are an analytical thinker who can quickly understand complex issues, identify risks and opportunities, and translate information into clear, practical advice, policy documents and executive correspondence.

You build productive relationships with a wide range of stakeholders and are confident engaging, influencing and collaborating across all levels of an organisation. You communicate with clarity, adapt your approach to different audiences, and provide trusted advice that supports sound decision-making.

The position operates in Personal Leadership context. This means that you are required to demonstrate personal accountability for delivering excellence and support your team and agency in delivering strategic goals. You will be expected to build and nurture relationships and be willing to seek feedback and learn.
