About the Procurement and Supply department

The Procurement and Supply department provides support, guidance and oversight for all Procurement, supply and clinical product selection activities undertaken by Austin Health. The department sits within the Chief Financial Officer directorate, along with Financial Services, Financial Accounting, Business Intelligence Unit, Enterprise Risk and Health Information Services.

About the role

Austin Health is seeking an experienced Senior Procurement Specialist to provide strategic leadership across a diverse portfolio of clinical and non-clinical expenditure categories. Reporting to the Deputy Director Procurement and Supply, you'll take ownership of category strategy and major sourcing and commercial initiatives, providing trusted commercial advice to Directors and senior stakeholders and delivering sustainable value across Austin Health.

- Lead major end-to-end tenders and complex commercial projects across assigned categories
- Own and implement category strategies, providing strategic leadership across assigned areas of spend
- Lead strategic sourcing and commercial analysis to identify and realise savings, value and opportunities for innovation
- Provide strategic direction on major supplier contracts,



including negotiations, service levels and performance management
- Lead relationships and performance discussions with key strategic suppliers and stakeholders
- Negotiate commercial agreements and contracts to secure value for money and sustainable outcomes
- Act as a key Procurement contact for Directors and business unit heads, providing trusted commercial advice and influencing strategic decisions
- Operate with a high level of independence while providing leadership within the Procurement team and contributing to procurement capability development
- Support strategic procurement planning, governance and contract lifecycle management
- Ensure compliance with Health Share Victoria (HSV) and Victorian Government procurement requirements

About you

You are a commercially minded procurement professional with:

- Experience in strategic procurement, sourcing or category management
- Strong negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills
- Advanced analytical capability and robust Excel skills
- Experience managing tenders and supplier contracts
- The ability to influence outcomes in a complex organisation.

Desirable

- Healthcare or public sector procurement experience
- Knowledge of VGPB and HSV procurement frameworks
- Qualifications in Procurement, Supply Chain, Business or related discipline
