About the role

Mater Private Hospital Gold Coast is seeking an Enrolled Nurse to work within our Perioperative Theatres. Mater has finalised the strategic acquisition of Healthscope’s Gold Coast Private Hospital, this is a significant milestone in Mater’s commitment to delivering exceptional and compassionate care to Queensland communities.

We have one Enrolled Nurse contract coming available shortly, we are seeking a 12 month maximum term contract 32 hours per week. The successful candidates will be required to work across a 7-day rotating roster including, early and late shifts, and on call.

The Perioperative Unit specialises in Orthopaedics, Neuro/Spinal, ENT, Urology and Cardiothoracic. As a highly valued member of the team, you will be part of a group of professionals who take pride in providing the highest levels of patient care. The team is supportive, approachable and patient-focused, and provides excellent training and development opportunities.

Salary range: $37.93 - $40.34 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!

What you’ll be doing

- Utilising a structured approach carry out comprehensive and accurate nursing assessments of patients
- Within scope of practice, implements planned evidence-based nursing interventions
- Act as a patient advocate ensuring patients are informed and consent is gained prior to procedures
- Contribute to the maintenance of an environment which promotes safety, security and personal integrity of individual patients and groups
- Maintain and adhere to Infection Control policies and practices
- Complies with organisational policies,



procedures, work instructions and guidelines
- Ensure confidentiality of corporate and patient information

About you

You will be driven by a challenging yet rewarding environment where you can bring your energy and experience to this dynamic and supportive unit.

Other skills and experience include:

- Current AHPRA registration as an Enrolled Nurse (no restrictions)
- Recent nursing experience in an acute hospital setting (at least 1-year post-graduate experience)
- Prior experience in medication management
- Advanced interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to liaise with a variety of different stakeholders both internally and externally at various levels
- The ability to work well autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team
