What you'll be doing
We are seeking an exceptional Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) to lead Ward 4A, our dynamic 32-bed Acute Stroke, Neurology and General Medicine unit. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of specialty medical care,



driving excellence in one of the hospital's most clinically rewarding and rapidly evolving areas.

As the NUM, you will provide visible clinical leadership to a highly skilled multidisciplinary team committed to delivering evidence-based, person-centred care. You will champion best practice in stroke and neurological nursing, fostering a culture of innovation, safety, teamwork and continuous improvement whilst ensuring patients receive timely, compassionate and high-quality care throughout their journey.
Working closely with medical, allied health and nursing colleagues, you will play a pivotal role in advancing stroke care pathways, improving patient outcomes and enhancing the experience of patients and families navigating complex neurological conditions. You will inspire and empower your team to achieve excellence, supporting professional growth, workforce development and the delivery of outstanding clinical outcomes.

Beyond clinical leadership, you will be responsible for driving performance across quality and safety indicators, patient flow, workforce planning, financial stewardship and operational excellence. You will lead a high-performing team culture where collaboration, accountability and innovation thrive.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

1. Registered Nurse-Division 1 with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (APHRA) and Relevant management tertiary qualification or equivalent work experience, or a combination of study and work experience; and demonstrated commitment to career development.
2. Demonstrated ability to lead, manage and support a clinical team.
3. Demonstrated excellence in written and verbal communication skills and computer literacy in Microsoft Applications, roster management systems and electronic medical records.
