Selection Criteria
SC1 Demonstrated expert knowledge of the relevant curriculum. Demonstrated ability to lead and manage the implementation of school priorities, and the teaching of literacy and numeracy skills across the curriculum.
SC2 Demonstrated ability to lead the planning and implementation of high impact teaching strategies that respond to student learning needs. Demonstrated ability to support teachers to evaluate the impact of learning and teaching programs on student learning growth.
SC3 Demonstrated exemplary ability to monitor and assess student learning at a class, cohort or whole-school level and use this data to lead improvement initiatives. Demonstrated ability to support others in using data to inform teaching practice and to provide feedback on student learning growth and achievement to students and parents.
SC4 Demonstrated exemplary interpersonal and leadership skills. Demonstrated ability to lead collaborative relationships with students, colleagues, parents and the broader school community focused on student learning, agency, wellbeing and engagement.

Role
The Community Engagement and Transition Leader leads the college¿s relationships with families and partner schools, with focus on successful transition into PCSSC.
The role develops effective partnerships and information-sharing processes that enable the college to understand and respond to the academic, social and wellbeing needs of incoming students.
Responsibilities
Community engagement and partnerships
- Lead the development and implementation of programs and events that strengthen relationships with the Point Cook education precinct.
- Promote understanding of PCSSC programs, pathways and opportunities within partner schools.
- Act as a key contact for partner schools and families.
- Develop partnerships that enhance student learning, engagement, wellbeing and pathways.
- Strengthen family understanding of the college¿s expectations, programs and support structures.
- Seek and use feedback from families, students and community partners to improve engagement practices.
Transition and enrolment
- Lead the Year 9 to Year 10 transition process.
- Disseminate communication associated with transition and enrolment.
- Coordinate the enrolment and induction of new students.
- Work with the Student Inclusion Leader to develop targeted transition arrangements for students requiring additional academic, wellbeing, inclusion or pathway support.
- Work with Year Level Team Leaders and other relevant staff to ensure incoming students are known, supported and connected.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of transition and induction programs.
Information sharing and curriculum continuity
- Coordinate the collection and transfer of relevant academic, wellbeing, inclusion and pathway information for students transitioning into the school.
- Ensure information is shared efficiently, appropriately and in accordance with privacy and confidentiality requirements.
- Work with partner schools to strengthen transition practices and shared expectations.
- Support the English and Mathematics Instructional Leaders to establish curriculum transition partnerships with partner school learning area leaders.
- Coordinate meetings, communication and shared activities that support Years 9¿10 curriculum continuity.
- Work with the Student Inclusion Leader to support transition planning for students with additional learning needs.
Team and operational leadership
- Establish clear annual timelines, responsibilities and communication protocols.
- Coordinate transition events, information sessions and enrolment activities for transition processes.
- Maintain accurate transition, enrolment and partnership records.
- Manage allocated resources and budgets in alignment with strategic priorities.
- Monitor and report on the implementation and impact of transition and community engagement initiatives.
Whole-school contribution
- Contribute transition, enrolment and community engagement expertise to college planning and decision-making.
- Work collaboratively with Principal Class, instructional leaders, Year Level Team Leaders, Careers and Pathways, Student Inclusion and wellbeing staff.
- Support clear and consistent communication between the college, families, partner schools
- Participate in college policy development and decision-making through membership of the leadership team.
- Maintain current knowledge of Child Safe Standards and all relevant child safety obligations.
- Work to achieve the goals, targets and Key Improvement Strategies of the PCSSC School Strategic Plan and associated Annual Implementation Plans.
- Undertake other duties and responsibilities as determined by the Principal.
Who May Apply
Teachers currently registered or eligible for registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching and qualified to teach and/or have demonstrated experience in the curriculum area(s) specified for the position.

Qualification Requirements
To be eligible for employment, transfer or promotion in the principal or teacher class:
- The person must have provisional or full registration approved by the Victorian Institute of Teaching; and
- if the person completed an Australian postgraduate level initial teaching program or course of study on or after 1 January 2024, they must demonstrate that they have satisfactorily completed a postgraduate level accredited initial teacher education program that has been accredited by an Australian State or Territory Teacher Regulatory Authority as satisfying the requirements of the Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership 'Accreditation of initial teacher education programs in Australia: Standards and Procedures'; and
- a person who graduated from a Victorian Initial Teacher Education (ITE) program after 1 July 2016 must also demonstrate that they have passed the literacy and numeracy test for initial teacher education (LANTITE) requirements (this condition is satisfied where the LANTITE requirement is part of the Victorian ITE program completed by the person).
