What you will do

As Legal Policy Officer, you will help develop and reform policy and legislation. You will research issues and support advice, projects and reform work across the Attorney-General's portfolio.

You will:

- support important policy proposals, programs and reform projects
- research issues and help prepare clear advice on policy and legislation
- work with people across the department and justice system on shared projects
- help prepare cabinet, parliamentary and ministerial documents for the Attorney-General
- contribute to varied projects across criminal law policy and other priority work.

About you

No mandatory qualification is listed for this role. A relevant tertiary qualification in law is highly desirable.

You should also have:

- knowledge of social policy, related fields or law, with relevant professional experience
- knowledge of Victorian Government processes and policy development
- strong writing, research, analysis and problem-solving skills
- flexibility to work with others, manage changing priorities and support an inclusive workplace.
