About the role
We are seeking an experienced and customer-focused Civil Compliance Officer to join our Development Compliance team. Reporting to the Coordinator Development Compliance, this position plays a key role in protecting public infrastructure and ensuring development activities comply with relevant legislation, local laws and City requirements.
This diverse role involves investigating compliance matters, undertaking site inspections, assessing applications, and engaging with residents, builders and contractors to support positive outcomes for the community.
About the successful candidate
The successful candidate will have experience in civil compliance, civil construction, engineering, infrastructure maintenance, or a related field, together with a solid understanding of regulatory compliance, stakeholder engagement and customer service principles.
Applicants should also possess:
- Knowledge of legislation and local laws relating to roads, verges, stormwater infrastructure and development compliance.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret engineering plans and technical documentation.
- Well-developed communication, negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- A White Card (Construction Induction Training).
- A current 'C' Class Driver's Licence.
- A current National Police Certificate.
A Certificate or Diploma in Civil Construction, Engineering, Compliance, or a related discipline and/or Traffic Management Accreditation will be highly regarded.
What we offer
This is a full-time permanent position offering a salary range of $84,739 to $98,574 per annum, dependent on skills and experience, plus superannuation.
