My client is a retailer located in Brisbane. They have experienced growth and are now looking for a category management professional like a senior category manager or merchandise manager with some leadership capabilities.

The successful applicant will be responsible for the achievement of key financial KPI's, negotiating and growing trade partner relationships, sourcing and development of the category products as well as delivering strategic initiatives in line with company objectives.

Responsibilities:

* Manage a small team

* Negotiating with suppliers and other stakeholders

* Manage supplier relationships

* Identify opportunities across the Business for additional profit and sales contribution.

* Maximise long term supply agreements for lowest cost of doing business

* Maximise range that provides a competitive edge within the market.

* Manage and implement Promotional strategies with Suppliers that communicates the benefits of the retailer





* Manage and optimise profitability through inventory management, supplier negotiations, product development and sourcing strategies.

Skills & Experience:

* Knowledge of the retail market to identify opportunities for product development via Category Management principles

* Development of Planogram principals to deliver improved product offer.

* Proven track record of category growth.

* Solid interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build solid working relationships with internal and external stakeholders

* Advanced analytical skills on Excel with the ability to use your findings to implement beneficial solutions.
