Company Description Skilled Welding Clinic Australia (PWC), established in 2016, provides specialized welding and metallurgy consulting services to a wide range of industries, including mining, steel fabrication, rail, power generation, oil and gas, defence, and pressure equipment. The organization supports clients with welding engineering, welding supervision and inspection, non-destructive testing (NDT), and quality management (quality control and assurance). PWC assists with complex welding challenges, procedure qualification records (PQR), welding procedure specifications (WPS), welder qualification testing (WQT), and detailed weld and NDT mapping.
The team focuses on delivering practical, standards-compliant solutions that enhance safety, reliability, and performance across diverse industrial projects.
Role Description The Welding Supervisor is a full-time, on-site role based in Sydney, NSW. This position oversees daily welding operations, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with relevant standards and project specifications. The role includes planning and allocating tasks, supervising welders and assistants, monitoring welding quality,
and conducting in-process inspections.
The Welding
Supervisor collaborates with engineers and inspectors to resolve welding issues, review WPS and PQR documents, and support NDT activities as required. The role also involves maintaining accurate records, coaching team members on best practices, and contributing to continuous improvement in welding processes and quality management.
Qualifications
Any qualification in IWE,IWS,IWT,AS 2214 or AS 1796 cert 10 is acceptable
Proficiency in Welding Inspection, with experience interpreting drawings, standards, and procedures to verify weld quality and compliance.
Competence in Quality Control, including documentation, defect identification, and implementation of corrective actions in line with project and regulatory standards.
Robust communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and provide explicit guidance to welding personnel.
Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety, risk management, and adherence to Australian standards and industry regulations.
