Technical Business Analyst – Contract | NSW | Hybrid

We are seeking a Technical Business Analyst with solid experience in data and analytics projects to join a federal government agency. In this role, you will play a key part in shaping and delivering strategic data assets and analytical products that drive insights, decision-making, and measurable outcomes for the agency.

You will work at the intersection of business and technology, translating complex data requirements into actionable solutions and ensuring alignment with the agency’s Data & Analytics roadmap.

You’ll engage stakeholders across the business, technology, and analytics domains to ensure scope, timelines, and deliverables are met.



Your focus will be on enabling data-driven decision making through explicit requirements, data process documentation, and alignment to technical solutions.

Key responsibilities include:
Develop and maintain a requirements traceability framework linking project deliverables to data outcomes.
Elicit, analyse, and document business and technical requirements for data and analytics initiatives.
Map and document data flows, data lineage, and business processes to provide context for requirements.
Facilitate workshops, meetings, and working groups to validate requirements with business and technical stakeholders.
Review data and analytics solution designs to ensure alignment with business expectations.
Support implementation of data models, analytics platforms, and reporting solutions.
