Sample Management Officer - Graduate / Entry Level (Full time)

Location: Girraween, NSW

Job Description

Shift Times
Monday to Friday; 8AM to 4PM

An extra 1.5% superannuation paid on top of National standard rate.

Reporting to the Team Leader, the Sample Management Officer is responsible for ensuring that all samples effectively pass through the laboratory in an orderly fashion, that they are easily accessible by laboratory staff, and that they are removed from refrigeration and put in storage or disposed of, once completed.

Responsibilities Include (but not limited to)
Ensure “water samples” cool room is kept up to date and orderly.
Ensure “soil samples” cool room is kept up to date and orderly.
Ensure “hold samples” cool room is kept up to date and orderly.
Ensure soil samples long term storage is kept up to date and orderly.
Disposal of Water Samples.
Disposal of Soil Samples.
Disposal of Biosecurity Samples, under supervision.

Qualifications
Engineering or Science qualifications and/or university master’s level qualifications, will be an advantage.
Valuable knowledge of standard office applications, especially MS Word, MS PowerPoint and MS Excel. General knowledge about systems,



IT architecture and production control, will be an advantage.
Strong numeracy and financial skills.
General preference and comfort in technical environments.
Ability to build and structure business plans, submissions and initiatives.
Desire to continually learn and improve.
An entrepreneurial spirit, with an eagerness to take the next step.
Ability to be a hands‑on hard worker and a ‘doer’ with a common sense approach.
Strategic thinking mindset.
Naturally strong abstract reasoning skills.
Robust written and oral communication skills and the ability to structure thoughts deliberately, logically and directly.
Good work practices.
