The Opportunity

Our client is a specialist Melbourne firm, based in the eastern suburbs, delivering outsourced finance to a portfolio of growing businesses think CFO, financial reporting, tax and advisory, all under one roof. This isn't corporate accounting and it isn't traditional practice; it's the best of both. You'll carry a handful of clients and effectively be their finance function in their board meetings, across their numbers, and genuinely part of their team. It's a busy, high-quality setting with real progression on offer.

The Role

Reporting to a Manager, you'll take the lead on a portfolio of client engagements, including ASX-listed businesses. Day to day you'll:
Manage the preparation of statutory reporting to ASX and ASIC, including half-year and annual reports, as well as management of the audit engagements with external auditors
Manage month-end reporting (including preparation of board papers)
Manage and deliver client projects (including IPOs, R&D;, capital raises)
Manage client budgeting, forecasting and financial modelling
Attend and deliver board papers at board meetings as required




Responsible for direct and indirect tax compliance (including Income Tax, FBT and GST)
Develop policies and initiatives to assist clients' finance operations

About You
5+ years in internal finance, business advisory, audit, tax or management accounting
CA/CPA qualified (or close to completion)
Technically solid, detail-focused, and a confident communicator who enjoys client contact
Able to juggle multiple deadlines in a professional-services workplace
A genuine willingness to learn, attitude matters more than ticking every box
Big 4 / mid-tier is desirable, not essential
