Medical Receptionist — Specialist Practice, St. George Private Hospital, Kogarah

We're a small, close-knit specialist medical practice at St. George Private Hospital looking for an experienced Medical Receptionist to become a permanent trusted part of our front-desk team.

We're specifically looking for someone who:
Has solid, hands-on experience as a Medical Receptionist in a healthcare setting — you know how a medical practice runs and can hit the ground running
Is exceptionally reliable — someone we can count on to show up, follow through, and be a steady presence for our patients and our team
Communicates brilliantly — warm and reassuring with patients, transparent and professional with doctors and colleagues, confident handling sensitive conversations (including financial consent)
Is looking for long-term stability, not a short-term role.

What you'll be doing
Welcoming patients and creating a calm, skilled first impression
Managing our appointment schedule, including rescheduling and cancellations
Handling patient enquiries and explaining financial consent for consultations and procedures clearly and sensitively
Maintaining accurate,



up-to-date patient records and files
Processing referrals and results, and ensuring correspondence reaches referring doctors promptly
General office support — scanning, supplies, and assisting the medical team as needed
Upholding strict confidentiality of patient medical and financial information at all times

What you'll bring
Proven experience as a Medical Receptionist or in healthcare customer service
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Strong organisational skills and the ability to juggle multiple tasks calmly
Proficiency with medical practice management software (Gentu) and Microsoft Office
Flexibility to help cover staff absences when needed
A genuine commitment to patient care
