A leading national law firm is seeking a Lawyer to join its highly regarded Insurance Litigation & Commercial Litigation team in Sydney.

This is an excellent opportunity to work alongside a respected partner on a diverse range of transport, marine and trade-related disputes. The team acts for insurers, corporations, freight forwarders and government authorities across complex litigation matters involving shipping, aviation, road and rail.

The Role

You will work across a broad range of insurance litigation matters, including:
Coverage and indemnity disputes
Cargo recovery and liability claims
Marine, aviation, road and rail litigation
Transport and trade-related disputes
Reviewing claims and providing strategic legal advice
Drafting court documents, pleadings and correspondence
Managing matters from commencement through to resolution
Appearing before courts and tribunals where appropriate

About You To be successful in this role, you will have:
3–5 years' PAE in insurance litigation or commercial litigation




Experience in transport insurance, cargo recoveries or policy coverage disputes is advantageous but not essential
Candidates with experience in subrogated property, property damage, liability claims or broader insurance litigation are encouraged to apply
Robust drafting, analytical and advocacy skills
Excellent client relationship and stakeholder management abilities
A proactive approach and solid attention to detail
