To increase our workshop output and continue to grow, Victorian Trailers Pty Ltd requires a number of experienced metal fabricators / welders for Monday to Friday role (minimum 38 hours per week) with overtime and Saturday shifts available. This position suits a mechanically-minded person that comes up with on the spot solutions to ensure the safe and effective running of the business.

Your main responsibilities include but not limited to:
Understanding shop drawings and job specification to produce desired fabrication
Material selection and preparation as per the job requirement
Cutting metal sections using hand tools, power tools, hydraulic shearing machine and gas cutting
Use hand tools and measuring instruments to align and join parts
Fabrication of material as required ensuring that the highest standards in finish and tolerances, in accordance with information supplied, are achieved using sound trade methods
Joining metal section using different welding techniques, riveting and bolting
Operate welding equipment including power tools and pneumatic tools




Cleaning the finish product by chipping hammer and wire brush and remove any sharp edges by filing and grinding
Visual examination of welding joints to meet clients’ specific requirements as well as industry standards
Dimensional measurement of finished products to verify conformance to specifications
Comply with work health and safety (WHS) requirements at all times

Essential:
Welding qualification (Certificate of Welding or equivalent)
MUST demonstrate welding knowledge and experience (2 years and more)
Attention to details
Aim for fabrication precision
Thorough understanding and compliance with OH&S; in the work place
MUST be available for an immediate start
Physical fitness for manual work
Excellent work ethic

In return we offer a full-time salary of $75,000 - $85,000 plus Superannuation. Job Type: Full time
