Enterprise Analytics Engineer

6 month day rate contract. Sydney hybrid 3 days onsite.

Profusion are looking for an experienced Enterprise Analytics Engineer to help establish a consolidated analytics setting for our Banking client. You'll rationalise fragmented datasets and enable scalable, self-service reporting through ThoughtSpot.

Platform context: This role interacts with an Enterprise Data Platform, which runs the division's digital and data stack on Google Cloud (BigQuery), with self-service analytics delivered through ThoughtSpot.

Key Responsibilities
Assess the existing data architecture and reporting landscape
Consolidate multiple data sources, tables and models into a trusted analytics layer
Design and implement a centralised enterprise data model
Optimise the performance of reporting datasets and SQL workloads
Build curated semantic layers for analytics consumption
Enable and support ThoughtSpot integration
Improve report refresh automation and reduce manual effort
Partner with business stakeholders to support dashboard requirements





Mandatory Skills
7+ years of enterprise data engineering experience
Advanced SQL, query optimisation and data warehousing expertise
Solid dimensional modelling skills
Cloud data engineering experience on Google Cloud, with BigQuery strongly preferred (AWS practical for broader infrastructure context)
Hands-on experience with dbt, Airflow (or equivalent orchestration) and Python
Data governance, lineage, ownership and metadata management
Performance tuning and optimisation
Experience supporting BI and reporting platforms

Preferred Skills
ThoughtSpot experience, including Spotter / Sage (highly desirable)
Power BI, Tableau or Looker background
Financial services or banking experience
