Summary:
The Maintenance Manager will oversee the maintenance operations within our hospitality and catering establishment in Melbourne. This role is crucial for ensuring that all facilities are maintained to the highest standards, providing a protected and welcoming environment for both guests and staff. The successful candidate will lead a team of maintenance staff, manage budgets, and implement preventative maintenance programmes to enhance operational efficiency.
Responsibilities:
Manage and supervise the maintenance team, ensuring all tasks are completed efficiently and to a high standard.
Develop and implement a preventative maintenance programme to minimise downtime and extend the lifespan of equipment and facilities.
Conduct regular inspections of the premises to identify maintenance needs and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
Coordinate with external contractors for specialised maintenance tasks and ensure quality control of their work.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, budgets, and inventory of supplies and equipment.
Respond promptly to maintenance requests from staff and guests, ensuring timely resolution of issues.
Train and mentor maintenance staff, fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in a maintenance management role, preferably within the hospitality or catering industry.
Robust understanding of building systems, including electrical, plumbing, and HVAC.
Excellent leadership and team management skills.
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks effectively.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Positive communication skills, both verbal and written.
Relevant qualifications in facilities management or a related field are preferred.
