About the role
Council is excited to offer an Apprenticeship chance for a motivated person interested in gaining hands-on trade experience and technical training as an Apprentice Fitter Machinist. The objective of the program is to develop the knowledge, skills and competence required to successfully complete the apprenticeship, with a view to establishing a rewarding career as a Fitter Machinist within the Water and Sewer industry.
General Information
The Apprenticeship program requires the successful applicant to enter into a Training Contract for four (4) years, commencing in January ****.
As part of their individual Training Plan, the apprentice will be required to undertake and complete formal trade training in Fitting Machining through a NSW TAFE Campus or Registered Training Organisation (RTO).
The successful applicant will commence as a 1st year Apprentice and will be trained under the guidance of suitably qualified supervisors and experienced tradespeople. The role may involve rotating between work locations to build practical, on-the-job experience across different areas of Council's Water and Sewer operations. Council offers a supportive development program,
providing exposure to many facets of the trade throughout the apprenticeship.

About the Candidate
1. Minimum education requirement - Year 10 School Certificate or RoSA (Record of School Achievement) or equivalent leaving certificate. Please note: Current Year 10 students are eligible to apply and if successful in selection it will be based on the proviso that they complete the Year 10 RoSA and provide documentation prior to commencement in position;
2. Demonstrated interest and/or experience in the chosen trade or area;
3. Be an Australian Citizen or granted permanent residency status;
4. Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment.
Work Environment
The commencing salary range for this position is between $****** to $****** per week ($26,****** to $44,****** per year) dependent on age and school qualifications plus 12% superannuation
