A prominent Federal Government Department is seeking an experiencedIBM Mainframe Developer (Associate Developer)to join their ICT Division.
This is a fantastic chance to contribute to the development and sustainment of large-scale enterprise systems supporting critical national services.
The successfulIBM Mainframe Developerwill work across key initiatives supporting business-critical platforms, enhancing system performance, reliability, and operational capability.
TheIBM Mainframe Developerwill be offered aninitial 12-month contract with 2 x 12-month extension optionsand will be based onsite inCanberra.
The successfulIBM Mainframe Developerwill be responsible for, but not limited to:
Develop, test and maintain high-quality COBOL-based applications across the full software development lifecycle.




Integrate software components into fully functional enterprise systems and support deployment activities.
Troubleshoot, debug and resolve complex technical issues within secure mainframe environments.
Collaborate with project managers, business analysts and ICT teams to deliver high-quality, fit-for-purpose solutions.
To be successful, theIBM Mainframe Developerwill demonstrate:
Strong expertise in COBOL, CICS, JCL, VSAM, DB2 and mainframe operating systems such as z/OS or z/VSE.
Proven experience in mainframe application development, unit testing and systems integration.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving and technical documentation skills.
