Role overview:
We are supporting a defence client with delivering and maintaining mission-critical IT systems.
You will play a key role in building cyber-resilient, integrated Linux infrastructure and OS that supports both deployed operations and day-to-day functions.
These systems are vital to enabling secure communications, real-time situational awareness, and interoperability across defence partners.
Key responsibilities:
Design and document system architecture, including advising on the design and implementation of interfacing systems
Develop, maintain, and integrate software components and applications, including automation of solution installation and deployment
Build, administer,
and support production systems, including performing level three (L3) support
Maintain system configuration control and documentation, including baselining, software inventory, SOPs, and baseline instruction documentation
Develop and implement patch management processes for supported systems
Transfer knowledge to support personnel and contribute to training material development
To be successful, you will have extensive experience in:
Experience working in Defence deployable, or secure government environments
Experience customising, administering and hardening Linux-based servers, operating systems and applications
Experience automating and scripting application installation and customisation
Experience developing and maintaining Linux Standard Operating Environment (SOE) images
Experience developing technical documentation
Experience with DevOps methodologies
