Hands Engineering is seeking a skilledCNC Machinistto join our team in Cardiff NSW.
This is afull-time positionoffering an exciting opportunity to work with precision machinery and contribute to the delivery of high-quality engineering solutions.
As a CNC Machinist, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining computer numerical control (CNC) machines, ensuring components are manufactured to exact specifications and quality standards.
This role is fundamental to our production operations and directly impacts the success of our projects and client satisfaction.
Key responsibilities
Operating Fagor and Heidenhain CNC-controlled machines to manufacture precision components in accordance with technical drawings, engineering specifications, and quality standards.
Setting up machines, including tool changes, calibration and program verification prior to production runs
Monitoring machine performance during operations and making adjustments to maintain quality and efficiency
Inspecting finished components using precision measuring tools to ensure they meet required tolerances and quality standards
Troubleshooting machine problems and identifying solutions or escalating issues to senior technicians when required
Following all workplace health and safety procedures and protocols to maintain a safe working workplace
What we're looking for
Proven experience operating CNC machines in a manufacturing or engineering environment
Strong understanding of technical drawings, blueprints and engineering specifications
Problem-solving mindset with the ability to identify and resolve production issues independently
Strong health and safety awareness and commitment to following workplace procedures
Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with colleagues
Relevant trade qualifications or certifications in CNC machining or a related trade are highly valued
Experience with GIBBS CAM software or G-code programming would be advantageous
