The team you'll be joining
Our Australian team consists of approximately 50 highly skilled engineers, and it is expanding rapidly due to the growth of large-scale hybrid projects.
What you'll be leading
AsaProtectionandControlEngineer,youwillplayacriticalroleinthedesign,implementation,andcommissioningofelectricalprotectionsystemsforlargescalephotovoltaic(solarfarm)projectsacrossAustralia.
Youwillberesponsibleforensuringthesafe,reliable,andefficientoperationofhigh-voltage(HV)gridconnections,integratingsolargenerationassetsintothenationalelectricitynetwork.Yourworkwillinvolveprotectionschemedesign,relaysettingsandconfiguration,coordinationstudies,andsupportingcommissioningactivitiesonsite.
You'll report to the Head of substation.
Your main responsibilities:
DesignHVprotectionschemesforgrid-tiedsolarfarms(e.g.,primaryandbackupprotection,faultdetection,islandingprotection).
Performcoordinationandselectivitystudiesforprotectionsettings.




SupportFactoryAcceptanceTesting(FAT),SiteAcceptanceTesting(SAT),andcommissioning.
Reviewandvalidategridcompliancestudies(includingR1/R2submissionsforAEMO).
Troubleshootandresolveprotection-relatedissuesduringconstructionandoperationphases.
EnsurealignmentwithAustraliangridcodesandnetworkoperatorstandards.
LiaisewithNSPsandAEMOduringtheconnectionapprovalprocess.
The profile we're looking for
Master's/Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or a related field
3–5 years of experience in Protection & Control engineering,
Experience managing recruitment, employee relations, and performance management processes.
StrongunderstandingofHVsystems(33kV,66kV,132kVandabove)andprotectionprinciples.
Experiencewithrelayconfigurationtools(e.g.,DIGSI,SELAcSELerator,PCM600).
FamiliaritywithAustraliangridconnectionprocessesandstandards.
Excellentproblem-solvingskillsandabilitytoworkindependentlyandinmultidisciplinaryteams
