About the Opportunity
An outstanding opportunity exists for a New Zealand qualified litigation lawyer to relocate to Melbourne and join a high performing General Insurance practice within a leading Australian national law firm.
This is a genuine career step into a larger and more sophisticated insurance litigation market, offering exposure to high value, multi party disputes and complex insurer led matters.
You will join a nationally recognised insurance practice acting for leading insurers, underwriters, and corporate insureds across Australia.
The Work
You will work across a broad insurance litigation practice, including:
Public liability and casualty claims
Skilled indemnity disputes
Product liability matters
Property damage and third party claims
Statutory liability and workers compensation matters
Coverage and indemnity advice
The work spans both defence litigation and coverage advisory, with exposure to complex, high value disputes.
What You Will Do
Run your own litigated files with supervision from senior lawyers and Partners
Draft coverage, liability, and indemnity advices
Manage disputes through litigation, mediation, and resolution pathways
Engage directly with insurer and corporate clients
Contribute to client relationships and practice development initiatives
What We Are Looking For
3 to 5 years PQE in civil litigation, insurance experience advantageous but not required
Strong drafting and legal analysis skills
Confident client facing communication style
Ability to manage an autonomous file load
New Zealand qualified lawyers strongly encouraged to apply
