Business Solutions Branch (BSB) is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing DFAT's business information systems, leveraging expertise across a wide range of services to deliver secure, secure and cost-effective solutions.
The Print and Design Centre (PDC) is DFAT's in-house printing service located in the RG Casey Building.
The PDC delivers print and design services utilised by ministers' offices, the DFAT Executive and Partner Agencies, as well as bulk print services required by DFAT business areas.
About the Role
The PDC provides a business-critical service to DFAT's Ministers, Executives, partner agencies and staff, with a service offering that includes printing briefing packs, cable dissemination for other government agencies, training manuals and booklets, binding services and guillotine cutting.
As Team Leader, you'll provide day-to-day oversight of all print room functions, including managing print room staff, prioritising print requests, managing stationery supplies, and engaging with suppliers and stakeholders across DFAT and partner agencies.
This is a hands-on, office-based role using specialist equipment, with all work undertaken from the dedicated facilities in the RG Casey Building.
You'll work closely with key business areas to ensure a high level of customer service is maintained for all DFAT staff, and you'll be responsible for keeping standard operating procedures accurate and up to date.
Key Duties
Perform printing and publishing activities including production,



finishing and binding of printed material
Manage print room staff, including day-to-day oversight and performance management
Respond to enquiries on printing and design matters from internal and external stakeholders
Consult external vendors on job specifications and production requirements
Manage the production, dissemination and storage of information to facilitate improved communication between the department and its stakeholders
Manage the timely delivery of services through the scheduling and prioritisation of print tasks
Manage stakeholder and vendor relationships, including maintenance schedules and repairs with machinery suppliers
Ability to juggle priorities, meet deadlines and negotiate printing timeframes
Excellent attention to detail with well-developed oral and written communication skills
Exceptional customer service skills, with a focus on enabling beneficial outcomes for DFAT business
A hands-on, servant-leader approach focused on the success of the team, with a willingness to learn and apply new knowledge and skills
Proficiency with the Adobe software suite; previous experience using commercial print equipment and software is highly desirable
A basic level of fitness, as this is a physical role involving standing, kneeling, reaching, lifting up to 15kg unassisted, and basic machinery troubleshooting
The ability to hold and maintain a minimum NV1 security clearance is essential, with the ability to obtain and maintain NV2
APS6 Non-Ongoing, 12-months + extension
