New England Support Services – Tamworth NSW
New England Support Services (NESS) is seeking experienced, qualified and highly capable Disability Support Workers to join our growing team in Tamworth.
We are looking for professionals who take genuine pride in the quality of their work.
You will be confident working independently, understand the responsibilities that come with supporting people with disability, and be able to provide safe, respectful and person-centred support from your first shift.
This is not an entry-level position.
Applicants must have demonstrated experience working within the disability sector.
About the Role
Depending on your experience and availability, you may provide support across:
Individual one-to-one support
Community access and social participation
Personal care and daily living activities
Employment and capacity-building supports
Supported Independent Living
Evening, weekend and sleepover shifts
This position is based in Tamworth.
Employment will initially be offered on a casual basis, with opportunities for permanent employment as our services in the Tamworth region continue to grow and suitable ongoing hours become available.
About You
You are an experienced Disability Support Worker who can build professional, respectful and reliable relationships with participants, families and colleagues.
You will be:
Calm, confident and capable when working independently
Reliable, punctual and committed to your rostered shifts
Professional in your communication and conduct
Skilled in completing clear, accurate and timely documentation
Able to follow support plans, risk assessments, policies and procedures
Person-centred while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries
Proactive, practical and solution-focused
Committed to participant choice, dignity, safety and meaningful outcomes
Previous experience in a senior, supervisory,
team leader or management position within disability services will be highly regarded.
Experience supporting participants with complex needs, personal care, Supported Independent Living or high-intensity supports will also be viewed favourably.
Essential Requirements
Applicants must hold, or be able to provide before commencing:
Certificate III in Individual Support, Disability, Community Services or a higher relevant qualification
Current First Aid certificate
Current CPR certificate
Current NDIS Worker Screening Check
Current Working With Children Check
Current National Police Check
Valid NSW driver licence
Reliable and comprehensively insured vehicle
Full Australian working rights
Applications that do not demonstrate relevant disability sector experience and the required qualifications may not progress.
