Townsville Grammar School is one of the original Grammar Schools of Queensland.
The Year 7-12 campus is located on the original site at North Ward.
The School also operates two Junior School campuses, both offering Pre-Prep to Year 6, at Annandale and North Shore.
Townsville Grammar School is a co-educational, non-denominational School with a current enrolment of approximately **** students, including 120 boarders (7-12), of whom approximately 25 are international students.
As one of the eight original Grammar Schools in Queensland, Townsville Grammar School was established in **** and has offered boarding since this time.
The School has a long-standing reputation as the leading academic school in Northern Queensland, also offering the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme for Years 11 and 12.
We seek a qualified French teacher to commence in Term 1, ****.
The position may be offered on a part-time basis for French teaching only, or as a full-time role for applicants who are able to teach additional subject areas(including other languages) aligned with the School's needs.

About The Role
The Teacher (French and Other Subject Areas) delivers engaging, academically rigorous learning experiences that develop students' proficiency in French language and their understanding of French-speaking cultures.
The role focuses on building students' confidence and capability in communication, while fostering curiosity, cultural awareness and a global perspective.
You will contribute to a contemporary, curriculum-aligned program and to the broader academic and pastoral life of the School.
Key Responsibilities
Designing and delivering high-quality teaching and learning programs aligned with curriculum and assessment requirements.




Developing learning experiences that build students' proficiency in listening, speaking, reading and writing in French.
Supporting students to develop confidence, fluency and intercultural understanding through language learning.
Monitoring, assessing and reporting on student progress, providing timely and constructive feedback.
Maintaining a positive and well-managed classroom environment that reflects the School's expectations and values.
Contributing to curriculum planning, including the development and review of unit plans and assessment to ensure rigour and relevance.
Teaching additional subject areas, where appropriate, in accordance with qualifications, experience and School requirements.
Supporting student wellbeing through active participation in the School's pastoral care and Positive Education framework.
You will also contribute to the broader life of the School by working collaboratively with colleagues, engaging professionally with parents, and participating in co-curricular activities and School events.

You are a reflective and committed educator with a strong understanding of French language education and a focus on student learning and growth.
You are able to engage students of varying abilities and foster an environment that encourages confidence, curiosity and a genuine appreciation for language learning.
You Will Demonstrate
Relevant teaching qualifications and current QCT registration.
Experience teaching French.
Demonstrated proficiency in French.
The ability to teach additional subject areas will be highly regarded.
